HOW IT WORKS:

  • An agreed mark up is added to the cost of the group travel arrangements, which subject to tax professional advice, constitutes a tax deductable donation from the donor (tour participant) to the charity.
  • Payment check is written to your organization.
  • On certain cruises we can secure an additional donation for the charity from the cruise line subject to an agreed level of participation.
  • Select International will also make a per person contribution to your non-profit organization on land and air tours of ten days or longer.

1. Group marks up price by $ 100 per person on a 10 day

$ 2500.00 European tour.

Group has 42 participants. 40 x $ 100.00 = $ 4000.00 plus value of 2 free trips $ 5000.00

Total Funds raised $ 9000.00


2. Group marks up price of a 7 day cruise $ 60.00 per cabin

Group sells 25 cabins $ 60.00 x 25 = $ 1500.00 plus

Group earns a free cabin worth $ 1000.00 plus

Cruise line matches $ 50.00 per cabin x 25 = 1,250.00

Starting planning on time (9 months to a year in advance is important, less time than that is seldom enough, more time is too much) and choosing a program which is attractive to a broad range of people are crucial.

How do we let our members know about Benefit Travel program? Your largest responsibility is promotion of the program. The more you promote, the more people you reach with your message, the better response you will have. Use all your marketing materials to put the word out about the travel program and lets start at least 9 months ahead. Promote the trip through mailings, bulletins and newsletter, e-mail announcements, functions and gatherings, web site, community activities, personal invitations, information evenings, press releases in the local paper, posters....

How do we make money with Benefit Travel? By adding a mark up to the value priced group tour or cruise you selected to promote. By receiving additional funds from Select International Tours or a partner supplier such as a cruise line. By using free travel for raffles or converting directly into cash.

How much money can we make? The amount of money your organization makes depends on the promotional efforts and interest of your membership in supporting the organization.
