HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FRENCH RIVIERA

DAY 1: DEAPART USA

Depart USA on an overnight flight to Nice.

DAY 2: NICE-CANNES

Arrive in Nice in the morning, where you are greeted by your tour host and transferred to Cannes. We enjoy a ride along the famous Cote d'Azure, before we reach La Croisette, one of the most elegant promenades in the world. The afternoon is at leisure to relax and become acclimated to a new time zone. (D.)

DAY 3: NICE

We will enjoy a full-day visit to one of the French Riviera's most famous spots, Nice! We will go on a guided walking tour of the Old Town and take a leisurely drive along the famous Baie des Anglais, followed by a stroll along the promenade to take-in some of the historic sites, such as Hotel Negresco. Lunch will be in Nice and then the afternoon is free to shop, relax, or explore this charming town. We will return to our hotel late in the afternoon. Dinner is at the hotel this evening. (B. D.)

DAY 4: MONTE CARLO

This morning we drive to the principality of Monte Carlo, where we have a panoramic tour of the city during the morning. The afternoon is at our leisure to explore the city, stroll the water-front, or, perhaps visit the Royal Palace or the Monte Carlo Casino. This tiny state consists of 475 acres, and is home of royalty, athletes, movie stars and celebrities of all types. We will return to the hotel to freshen-up and have dinner. And then we are off for a night at the Casino in Cannes, for those that feel lucky! (B. D.)

DAY 5: GRASSE- ST PAUL DE VENCE

We will have another full-day excursion today, into the hills north of the city and the town of Grasse, "the capital of perfume". Firstly, we will take a guided walking tour of the town, followed by a visit to a perfume laboratories. Here we can stock up on fragrances at low, low prices. We will have lunch in Grasse followed by a visit to the medieval town of St. Paul de Vence, home of the painter Chagall and a great place for browsing and shopping. We will return to the hotel late that afternoon. (B. L.)

DAY 6: AIX-EN-PROVENCE

Another wonderful full-day excursion has been planned for us this day when we visit the capital of the Provence region and the intellectual center of the region, Aix-en-Provence, which is also the home of the famous French impressionist painter, Paul Cezanne. We visit the painter's studio and the Old Town section of the city. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight Cannes. (B. D.)

DAY 7: ST. TROPEZ

This morning, following breakfast, we will have a wonderful excursion to St. Tropez, the famous haunt for celebrities, artists and culture. Our time here will be at leisure to enjoy a Pastis (the national cocktail of France) in one of the many sidewalk cafes in the old port, or browse through the many charming shops and boutiques. We will return to Cannes in the late afternoon for dinner followed by a visit to the world-famous casino in Monte Carlo. (Dinner Dress/Jacket and Tie Required) (B. D.)

DAY 8: CANNES

A day for rest and relaxation and soaking up the sun. You may choose to take a boat ride to Lerins Islands and St. Marguerite or explore Rue dAntibes, Cannes famous shopping street. Tonight we have a farewell dinner with wine at a local restaurant. (C. D.)

DAY 9: NICE- USA

This morning you are transferred to Nice airport and flight home. (B.)
